Residents of Waveny’s independent living community, The Inn, spent an afternoon writing notes of healing and support for family members, survivors and first responders of the September 11th terrorist attacks. The theme of the 20th Anniversary of 9/11 is “Remembrance, Reflection and Resilience” and in that spirit residents of The Inn wrote their notes which will be taken by the non-profit organization VOICES of September 11th to New York City to be displayed at a two-day symposium.
Residents will also visit Silvermine Galleries’ current exhibit, “Voices of Reflection” which includes thousands of pieces of inspirational artwork, mail art, photographs, sculptures, drawings and quilts which commemorate the lives lost, documents the stories, and captures the comfort extended to our Nation.
